Poetry:Stars stare till you burn [0x03]

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

hey you moon in my window!
just feel all I have got for spare
nowhere to go how you dare
you pull out our dreams
from hearths with pale light
of your wings in dark
what just keeps you up?
to cut us half every night
in black we dive
with leaving hope
she and me
the moon and smile
while true we stand on cloud
on the last frame wishing us good night
who will be there and who will not
counted by that bastard out
in the morning milky white?

Ouch, I couldn’t stand the temptation to finish this small mug of bits. I did it old fashioned way in the end. No preparations just one straight mix with manual beats. Until I figure out the quantization there won’t be much difference in quality.

So enjoy and let me know what do you think about it.

The backbone of my new song

drums_recording

Busy, busy, busy. This state makes me crazy, but I found a tiny time frame to compose a small acoustic song. I’m working right now on the drum line. Engineering drums is not exactly so easy as I expected (I wish I had a drum set at home just to make my neighbors feel happier when I’m NOT at home).

Now about the song. The concept sounds great, but somehow it’s too hard to keep right timing of all those separate recordings without drums. In all my previous projects I always tried to mix drums after the guitar samples recording. So the idea is right now as simple as make perfect drum line and then lay my hands on guitars again to record whole thing from scratch. I hope there will be enough will and time before the idea disappears and that it stays compact. You know human mind in this digital age gets easily polluted. You hear something there and something elsewhere and whole thing is gone and you copy stuff you think is originally from your hearth. I think it will take about weak or so to record and after that it would need some mastering.

So tune up for next weeks.
