Are we all digital junkies?

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

prebuffered message from ghost: I insist that the guy in the left on the picture is not me! Neither is the princess of the darkness.

Beware, new transmission from me and my ghost . We don’t know if you are but we feel like junkies. Don’t know what the guy thinks, but it wouldn’t change a god dam bit. Bytes are everywhere and we can’t stop to suck them in our brain. We need information to live our normal days. Connected until our eyes burn. Since morning breakfast to bedtime me and my ghost (he don’t sleep) we are plugged in as the Net is wast and infinite.

tHIS GUy is not my ghost.

So many information. Articles, news, blogs, music, movies, books, RSS feeds, twitter followers, facebook, emails, SMS, calls, IMs, forums. We wish to stop clicking through the links that sounds interesting to us. But how to distinguish what could be interesting without assimilation of the information?

How to automatically filter our inputs based on context we are switched to? It’s just pure entertainment or some science article we are reading, it is something important for our progress? I doubt so and so do my ghost. More than ninety percent is just trash and we are pre-apocalyptic digital junkies (because we aren’t aware of being post apocalyptic junkies). We live in the hostile environment of poisonous marketing through adds and opinions from other users polluting the net with their minds and thoughts, and there are also spammers and their bots infiltrating forums and discussions. I won’t mention decision-makers who construct news channels and decide for the masses unable to dive for information.  anorak in the dark

Maybe we are all infected of some disease as our brain is trying to assimilate this binary world in the cables. We wish to observe digital life patterns of other users to see if they are similar. What do they do if the solution is not to unplug. It makes us pleasure. Staying on the top of the information flow. Interconnected with other junkies. Absorbing the stuff. I’m searching for things on the hard disks on the whole planet to enhance our life with the help of my ghost. We are searching for movies I wanted to see. Music I need to listen to. Friends I need to write. Ghost is my digital pimp and I need to enhance him to suit my needs.

Our days are wretched. We are caught in never ending spiral of things me and ghost need to solve. Things when we have to go for a dive in the net to find a solution. My brain is in fire as my eyes and other interfaces and my overloaded ghost isn’t feeling good either. But he doesn’t feel anyway. So we raise this question.

What is the solution of this brain pollution? Aren’t we just willingly spinning our world faster? If you have any idea let me know in comments.

recording: Karl Koch 23

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

This song is for Karl Koch, hacker known as hagbard who died at age 23 on may 23 1989. He was addicted to cocain and his skills talk for themselves, despite the fact he abandoned hacker ethics. He was involved in selling hacked information from US military computers to the KGB. Koch was found burned to death with gasoline in a forest. The death was generally considered a suicide but truth burned together with his soul. He believed that the world is ruled by a secret group of illuminates. Natural number following 22 and preceding 24 followed him everywhere with mysterious occasions and found him also in the day of his death.

lyrics:
you and me
we can read
between the lines
between the streams
you and me
we have no eyes
but still can see
twenty-three

there is no drug
to let you free
when all is lost
you’ll burn with me

Nichts ist so wie es scheint

poetry: echo of the blossom [0x06]

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Days fly and lies are set
why we promise and then forget?
those deep words that illuminate
words keeping us leaving?
what matters in the end
time given by stealing?
does it all just meant to be
who then choose the path for me?
will we all meet again
in the endless hall of fame?
next to yours i would write my name
my friends on roads forgotten
what matters if roots rotten
sings truth about the place
burned by the innocence
naked she is selling fates
feeding dirty our voracious mouths
lets live the rest of our own thoughts
lets make love in truth then die in lies
lets breed sins and free our voice
kneeling we prayed for perfect times
we built walls where blossom choice
once in a while stop pretending
tomorrow waits only in our minds
and moments are never-ending

Monday is one of the days I really dislike (next to Sunday), but today is a special Monday, not only I finished team project successfully but also drank bottle of red wine and figured out how to work with beats and quantization in Logic. My beats will sound much better since now. Enjoy my sample.

Poetry:Blindness of binary dreams [0x05]

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

wired in cuprum interference
our brains spread against interrupts
across borders, behind the lines
we are only possibility that remains
in shortage of humanity
we did abortion to our mother nature
reversed bodies
assembled feelings
artificial mind
compiled for speed of light
in naked purity of the byte
seducing to take a dive
in derived uncertainty
we plug in then fly
inside our own vanity
we plug in to die
in lost eternity
we plug in to hide
to fight and breed
across the fibers
cut until they bleed
octets of weaken bits
streams of hacked memories
formed patterns matching forgotten origin
we didn’t care the future we just wanted in!
