The backbone of my new song

drums_recording

Busy, busy, busy. This state makes me crazy, but I found a tiny time frame to compose a small acoustic song. I’m working right now on the drum line. Engineering drums is not exactly so easy as I expected (I wish I had a drum set at home just to make my neighbors feel happier when I’m NOT at home).

Now about the song. The concept sounds great, but somehow it’s too hard to keep right timing of all those separate recordings without drums. In all my previous projects I always tried to mix drums after the guitar samples recording. So the idea is right now as simple as make perfect drum line and then lay my hands on guitars again to record whole thing from scratch. I hope there will be enough will and time before the idea disappears and that it stays compact. You know human mind in this digital age gets easily polluted. You hear something there and something elsewhere and whole thing is gone and you copy stuff you think is originally from your hearth. I think it will take about weak or so to record and after that it would need some mastering.

So tune up for next weeks.

Hi this is probably the first birthday present you get this year. I composed you a little song (so little that it took me almost six days of hard work) and anyone here is encouraged  to listen. I wish you only the best .. so live long and prosper my friend! Looking forward to see you. What about this weekend?

It’s mixed down only for headphones right now as I don’t have studio monitors  and my SONY sound system fools me all the time.

When I wrote this lyrics I imagined two samurais facing numerous enemies and one of them give highest sacriface for a friend without arguing.

lyrics:

I fall and he walks again
despite the fact it doesn’t help
just to keep, I keep pretend
despite the fact we were born for death
our soul is infinite
I would give my life to you my friend
I draw my sword to keep you safe
I have the right
I have the right
I have the choice
to choose my fate
reject your voice
fuck off with the obedience and go
I stand right here
stand right here to sort it out
sort it out

Hi, I started working with Apple Logic and here is my first output. There is nothing special about the song .. but it has some mood. I have to work more with the arpeggiator function as it sounds a little static and could use some swing.
